In the event of a Major Incident such as a fire or lockdown, parents/carers are instructed not to attend the school premises until informed that it is safe to do so. The school will make arrangements, when safe to do so, for the collection of pupils and communicate these via email and text message at the earliest opportunity. It is vital for the safety and quick resolution of an incident that all parents/carers abide by this important protocol and we thank everyone in anticipation for this.
Pupils and staff are provided with training to support them in reacting positively to a major incident. Activities include:
Fire evacuation drills
Lockdown alarm awareness drills
Group table-top sessions about how to act in the event of a major incident.
Pupils and staff are instructed that in the event of a major incident that they do not make contact with anyone until the situation is resolved. This includes parents/carers and is for the safety and security for all involved and to support the prompt resolution to the situation.
