The documents linked below describe the rationale behind the Gairloch High School Curriculum from S1-6. These documents take into account national and authority-wide guidance and also relate to what we can deliver based in our local context. Some of the courses listed as delivered by school staff may not run every sessions depending on pupils numbers and teacher availability with 2-year rotations offered where possible and appropriate. These documents will be reviewed annually to ensure real-time accuracy.
The SCQF is the qualifications framework for Scotland. It is used to compare and understand our country’s wide range of qualifications.

National Qualification Group Awards (NQGA) is the term which covers National Certificates (NCs) and National Progression Awards (NPAs).
NPAs and NCs develop skills much sought after by employers. They encourage learners to think differently and aim higher. As such, these qualifications are relevant to anyone, including those considering self-employment.
National Progression Awards (NPAs) are available in a variety of sectors, from Construction and Childcare to areas such as Digital Literacy and Social Software.
NPAs are at SCQF Levels 2-6. A level 6 NPA is delivered at the same level as a Higher however with different assessment types
We work with partners to offer a range of Foundation Apprenticeships.
